RCCL cruise excursions or independently explore?

I'm taking a cruise on RCCL's Splendour of the Seas stopping in Dubrovnik (Croatia), Kusadasi-Ephesus (Turkey), Santorini (Greece), and Corfu (Greece). I'm not sure whether it is best to take Royal Caribbean's shore excursions or to explore on my own. Any thoughts on the best things to do here would be greatly appreciated!RCCL cruise excursions or independently explore?
I do know that RCCL ups the price when you book excursions with them. It may be easier to book them with RCCL first and not worry about it when you get there...but I do know that when you get off the ship you will have plenty of opportunity to find the same type of excursions at a much lower price then booking it through RCCL. Basically it boils down to...."Do you want to pay more for booking it in advance? Or look for a better deal when you get there?" But if you don't want to do any excursions and explore on your own, it would be cheaper, but it would most likely be better to have someone who knows the area showing you around then you just going off and exploring an area you are not familiar with. HAVE FUN! Greece is going to be amazing!
You'll pay more by booking your shore excursion thru RCCL but it'll be hassle free and you'll get back to the ship on time.

Independently exploring or booking a tour through your own research will definitely save you $$ but will take some time to research...and you need to make sure you get yourself back to the cruise on time!

I've done both and personally prefer exploring on my own or booking a small tour operator directly. Pros and cons to both.

Enjoy Greece.RCCL cruise excursions or independently explore?
IMO, a great part of the answer lies in how long you're in port, and how far from the port you think you might like to go. I personally would not go further than an hour from the port on a non-ship excursion, and would plan to be back at the ship at least an hour before sailaway if I took a non-ship excursion. That way if something goes wrong (traffic jam, flat tire, etc), I have some wiggle room in my schedule.
My experience has been that it is cheaper and better to explore on your own, or make your own arrangements when you get into port. You do have to be very aware of the time, and plan to be back on ship at least an hour before they tell you.

I am going on a cruise- The Majesty of the Seas (RCCL) to be exact. I pre paid gratuities, do I still need....

To tip anyone, or do the pre paid graruities cover everyone?I am going on a cruise- The Majesty of the Seas (RCCL) to be exact. I pre paid gratuities, do I still need....
Here are the gratuities you might want to pay in addition...

- Room service. The RCI menus say tipping is "at your discretion" but I'd say a dollar or two each time is appropriate

- Tour guides if you go on any excursions

- Porters at the pier, if you don't carry your own luggage

- Tips for exceptional service ... totally at your discretion and not expected beyond what's pre-paid

FYI, as Tinker said, 15% is automatically added at the bar, but RCI also adds an "additional tip" line when you sign. A little bold, but you can use it if a bartender is really good.

Hope that helps.
your fine, except if someone does an exceptional job and you really want to show your appreciation. We've been on several cruises and one time we had the best room steward and so we gave her a little extra. She really went above and beyond!I am going on a cruise- The Majesty of the Seas (RCCL) to be exact. I pre paid gratuities, do I still need....
If you have prepaid there is no need to tip anyone, it will all be taken care of.

Have a great cruise
PREPAID GRATUITIES DO COVER ALL REQUIRED TIPPING: If you prepaid gratuities you took care of your room steward, waiter, assistant waiter, and head waiter. Whenever you buy a drink on ship, alcoholic or soft drink, a 15% gratuity will be added to each tab at that time. So you will be tipping as you drink. Even though you have prepaid to tip all of the appropriate people, you can add more if you want to recognize great/exceptional service. When you get each drink order the 15% is added automatically but you can add still more if you want.

When you arrive at the port the people who take your luggage to put it on the ship should be tipped, like $1. a bag, because they do not work for the cruise line, they work for the port. They take your bag to the ship's door to be loaded by ship's personnel who then carry it to your cabin door.
Since you prepaid the gratuities, you are covered for all of the staff. As someone esle said, if you get exceptional service, you can always give a little more but it is not required.

Of course, you will be paying the 15% tip automatically when buying soda or drinks. That is not covered by the prepayment. It is added to your shipboard account.
I agree with everyone above pre-paying gratuties covers tips to everyone on the ship..in bar it will be added automatically......but maximum people pay extra tips to their room attendant if they like their work....you will get a special carrd from your room attendant on the last day of your cruising, where u can pay and give feedback to her/his services.
Well the required tiping has been done but youll still have to use comon sence and tip some one if theyre do something special for you. But dont overdo it or youll spent much of your dollars for nothing. So my advice is to use common sence but you are not forced to tip any one. Johan

How do you get a job in a casino on RCCL?

go to their website.

Try http://www.gamingfloor.com as well, they have the latest vacancies on all cruise lines. Don't work for Carnival cause they suck.

RCCL payment options, will they cancel my cruise?

I want to book a cruise with rccl in november, the deposit is 200, and final payment is due by oct 1st., only a day away, will the cancel my cruise if i pay the $200 deposit and the final payment isnt on time ?how does it work?RCCL payment options, will they cancel my cruise?
If you mean that the cruise is November 2009, then forget about a deposit as you must pay the full amount when you book. There is a payment schedule for all Royal Caribbean cruises and the final payment is generally due within 60 days of the cruise. So just plan to pay the whole amount and yes they will cancel you if you do not pay it.
The reason your total payment is due one day after your deposit is because Oct 1st is less then 60 days in advance. Most cruises ask for you to pay in advance at least 60 days before the cruise. Some like Princess ask for final payment 90 days in advance. So for a short notice such as this cruise, then, yes final payment is due Oct 1st and if you do not make the final payment, then they will cancel you for this cruise. I was canceled in less then 24 hours because they did not receive my check. I had to rebook and start over. It took them like 10 days before they finally found my check. Now I pay by credit card only.RCCL payment options, will they cancel my cruise?
They have the option of canceling your cruise if you don`t follow the rules.

The cruise line is trying to fill cabins with paying bodies. Your cruise is like a month away, so they require payment due to reserve your cabin.

I suggest you contact RCCL and explain your situation before a possible cancelation.

Hope I helped
Perhaps you should call them an ask! Call whoever you booked the cruise through. It's important to get accurate information from a reliable sourece because you may loose your deposit.

Rccl Cruise Director Ken Rush anyone know what ship he is on?

I love Ken Rush! He was our cruise director when we went on our honeymoon last October '07 on Liberty of the Seas. During the cruise, he mentioned that that was his last cruise with Liberty of the Seas. He will be working in the RC office in Miami, then would later on go to Independence of the Seas, which I think starts in May 08 for transatlantic cruises.Rccl Cruise Director Ken Rush anyone know what ship he is on?

  • My husband and I just booked a cruise on rccl, and now my friend and her husband would like to come along.....?

We would like to dine together, is there anyway that we could eat at the same table, I know that we could have the same seating ( main seating). We never cruised with friends and we both want to eat together. Is this possible? My husband and I just booked a cruise on rccl, and now my friend and her husband would like to come along.....?
Yes, you can do that and you have two options. First, you DO NOT have to wait until you are on ship to have your dining arrangements together. When the other couple books they should request that their reservation be linked with your reservation. OR, you can call RC and request that the two reservations be linked and that you sit at the same table. You can even request a table for 4 and they will try to accommodate you. Depending on the ship there will be tables for 4, for 6, or for 10/12. You can request a table for 4 or a small table vs a large one if that's what you prefer. All you will need is both reservation numbers, full names of the persons the reservations are in, and the date of the cruise.

If you do not complete the linking before your cruise begins, then you can do as the others suggested and go to the main dining room when you first board the ship and request that you be seated together. Both you and your friends will need to be present to make that change request.
Sure, as soon as you get on board go see the maitre'd. This is a simple thing that they do all the time.My husband and I just booked a cruise on rccl, and now my friend and her husband would like to come along.....?
No problem at all. Once on board, just go to the head maitre'd and ask to be seated together. You will see all kinds of people doing similar things. Just be sure when your friends book that they ask for the same dinning time as you did(early or late seating).
Happens all day long...Just talk to the maitre'd but make sure they book same Dinner time
Yes - cross reference your bookings and you'll be all set!

    Have a great cruise.
Yes you can do it once you are on the ship, but sometimes you have to wait a night because all of the tables are already set for that first night. (I had that problem) Just call up RCCL and see if they can put you together now. Cruising with friends is the BEST! I did it last year.
Once you get on board, talk with someone in the dining room. Usually they can help you out. You can always eat at other places on the ship too. There is usually a number of restaurants or the Lido where you can sit anywhere you wish.
No, no, no, never mind getting onboard and seeing the maitre'd. All you have to do is advise your travel agent and they will contact the cruise line so they can cross reference you and the other couple. This way it's taken care of before you even get onboard.

Going on RCCL IN MAY ANY TIPS FOR KIDS?

I am going on a cruise in may with 4 kids.Age 8 to 16.Ports of call are coco kay , Nassau, and key west. Can you just do your own thing as some trips seem expensive or do you recommend guided tours at ports.Going on RCCL IN MAY ANY TIPS FOR KIDS?
Coco cay is their private island. It is a good day to plan on enjoying the beach. They will have a bar-b-que on the beach as well as volleyball and a few other free activities. There is also some shopping available so you might want to take a few dollars with you. Nassau isn't much to see or do, especially for the kids. Key West is your best destination for things to do. The trips offered by the ship are very expensive. When you get off the ship, there will be a lot of tour guides offering various tours for much less than the ship. They are usually better and it is always so much nicer to go with a small group. With the ship tours, the groups are usually very large.
One excursion I recommend is in Key West, and it's not terribly expensive. It is a tour of the island on an open-air trolley, and takes you to the one beach, to the southern-most part of the continental US, to Hemingway's house, and through the historic homes areas. There is a guide with very good narration you can hear well, and there are NO bad seats. You don't stop, but get a very good overview, and get back to the wharf in time for plenty of shopping and poking around. I did that on my first visit to Key West, and thought it was a great introduction. (When you're there, take a look for water bowls set out for dogs in the entryways of almost all bars and restaurants -- they are very dog-friendly there!)Going on RCCL IN MAY ANY TIPS FOR KIDS?
yes, defiantely get a tour they are so much fun to see the beauty of the island. If you don't get a tour booked there will be nothing to do. This happened to me where we did not book a tour and we wished we would have!
Personally I would do my own thing. I've been on some of the tours they offer and I learned they take up most of your day. One excursion I did, the bus I was on was in a traffic jam for 2 hours. And we were suppose to have 3 hours of shopping time but by the time we got there we had 15 minutes. Also I don't like hearing lectures all the time. So now what I do is I do research about the places where I am going and find cheap transportation to get there. I learned too that doing this is cheaper. Sometimes the tours they offer are too expensive and you can get ti cheaper by just booking it yourself.

Im going on ta RCCL cruise out of Miami, what is a good pre-cruise hotel?

(Going on the Royal Carribean Freedom of the seas)Im going on ta RCCL cruise out of Miami, what is a good pre-cruise hotel?
Hotels in Miami's South Beach are very expensive. You might be better off staying downtown near the AA Arena. It is walking distance to the port and on the weekends the hotels are cheap because it is in the downtown, not the beach.Im going on ta RCCL cruise out of Miami, what is a good pre-cruise hotel?

How does the Carnival Glory compare to RCCL Mariner of the Seas for food?

Royal Caribbean is just known for their food and service. They cater to you as an individual, therefore they have a very high service rating. I have been on both ships, Royal Caribbean ships in general have better quality and presentation of food. Can I call RCCL and set up transportation from airport to ship?

We did on carnival last year..We found it very convenient..We were met at the baggage claim by a Carnival rep and they found our name took our "transfer" tickets and walked us to the bus we waited maybe all of 10 minutes and we were at the port of miami in about 15 mins..I compared the taxi prices and the round trip transfers and it was about the same..it was $64 round trip per person..we did not think that was a bad deal..plus we know that the bus is going there where as a taxi might "take you for a ride" if they know you are a tourist..You can book the transfers right online or call the cruiseline. Can I call RCCL and set up transportation from airport to ship?
They usually offer you that option when you book the cruise. However, depending on which port you're departing from, it may be much easier/cheaper/convenient to just grab a cab or arrange the transportation yourself. If you use cruise line transportation, you'll have to wait on their bus until it fills up and then be deposited at the port with the busload of people. Some ports, like FLL, are very easy.

Same thing when you return. Much easier to get a porter to help you with your bags and get you to the front of the cab line - costs a couple of bucks extra but well worth it.Can I call RCCL and set up transportation from airport to ship?
yes you can i'm sure, or log onto resorthoppa.com and they do transfers too, and prob cheaper

New to NCL March 2010. How does it stand up to RCCL?

Also, RCCL offers in-room babysitting which is a huge plus for me. But, NCL does not and I will be traveling with a 1.5 yr. old in March and the group babysitting is for 2-12. Do you think I can get away with telling them he is 2? Would they verify his age?New to NCL March 2010. How does it stand up to RCCL?
Have you already booked? If not, cancel.

NCL doesn't stand up to Royal. The service is bad, the crew is bad. Freestyle just means long lines to have dinner. The only good thing I could say about my NCL cruise was that the disco dj was good. Yes they will definitely verify his age and won't do group babysitting. As you said that's a huge plus in Royal's favor. You should need his birth certificate anyway to prove he is a US citizen which would have his birthday so they will know he isn't 2.

If you were happy with Royal I would stick with Royal.
i have gone on ncl and i know that i had a great time with my hubby . i think it is best to tell the truth about your child's age cause most likely you may need a passport or birth ceritite to go on board. i have a real nice travel Agent i will give you his name he is so nice you can chat and ask him anything----tom cutrera 18663240992 ext.7032New to NCL March 2010. Feel free to leave lots of details....thanks.Has anyone been on Sovereign of the Seas, RCCL within the last couple of months? How was it?
I was on the Sovereign in April it was my second time, very nice ship for a older one, I love RCCL, we always have a great time, we will be on our 8th cruise with them next month on the Majesty of the Seas, can't wait, you should have a great time, very clean and the staff are great
its an older ship, but nicely kept up. The staff is nice

look on cruisecritic.com for details of the specific cruise.Has anyone been on Sovereign of the Seas, RCCL within the last couple of months? How was it?
I hate to disagree but found the ship a run down mess. We cruised Aug 10th so my info was pretty fresh. Our rooms, we had 4, either had sewer or A/C issues. The rooms are tiny, barely longer than a twin bed. The bathroom is so small you can actually sit on the toilet, brush your teeth and wash your feet at the same time ( no we didn't try it lol) I have been on 6 cruises this year , all with Carnival, this was my first and last RCCL

The area around the pool was cramped and smelled like musty carpeting. The one bank of main elevators constantly busy. The food was basic, nothing to have a wow moment over. Tipping was average but felt like asking for additional towels was an inconvenience

Disembarkation was like a "bums rush" They want that ship empty by 8a

Hope this helps. Sorry it was so negative but I really felt for what the Cruise cost above what Carnivals does the price difference defiantly wasn't not worth it

  • Are drinks expensive on the RCCL Freedom of the Seas?

What other items do you pay for when on board? Are drinks expensive on the RCCL Freedom of the Seas?
Drinks are as expensive as in any nice hotel. During Dec.2007 we traveled with RCCL and our pre dinner drinks were Black Label and Soda $6.00 and a Baileys on the rocks $5.50. Also you have to pay for sodas, and any other liquor you order. In the dining room they offer wine, beer and even after dinner cocktails and all of these cost around $4 to $6. There is a restaurant that is not included in the regular dining rooms, or a fast food place. You will have to pay for services like laundry, spas, beauty salons, massages, etc.

You can buy a special cup that they sell for about $30 that will be filled indefinitely with any kind of soda for the whole trip. Water bottles are also sold. I bought some at the islands and these are permitted. Enjoy your trip. Are drinks expensive on the RCCL Freedom of the Seas?

Any real difference between RCCL and Carnival?

I'm looking more into if there are any huge differences. I don't care if the staff or food etc. is slightly better on one than the other. Also which ships have more to do?Any real difference between RCCL and Carnival?
Royal Caribbean has more to do. They have rock-walls and ice skating rinks. Thats the biggest difference. Also, the prices on Royal are usually higher then Carnival. Good luck!

    Hope I helped!
Royal Caribbean for the win. They have so much to do on their ships, plus better food, service and what have you. Carnival tends to attract Spring Break partier types.Any real difference between RCCL and Carnival?
In general, RCCL has newer and much nicer ships, with more things to do on them. Carnival does have a new one though, which I would think would be nice. Other than that, the other difference is price. Carnival is cheaper.
CCL is cheaper and attracts more of a younger crowd along with families and kids. Good cruise line. RCCL is more of young mature crowd and less teenagers and kids. Depands on what you're looking for.
The cruise ships are all very much alike as they are competitors (even though owned by one company) I prefer RCCL as Carnival is one of the lesser lines and is more of a party boat.
RCCL is more expensive and has larger ships

RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?

I have booked tickets for 7 nights cruise with Liberty of the sea (Mediterranean) in july, and i was wondering about formal nights, I read somewhere that people are required to wear formal clothes/dress? my hubby and I aren't exactly formal wear type of people and we don't wanna purchase suits or dress just for this cruise... so do we have to lock ourselves in our cabin during formal nights?RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?
Yes you heard right! There is formal night.....I hate getting dressed up to but learned to love it on a cruise. First of all when you are entering or exiting the main dining room they will ask you to take a picture. It comes out really nice since then you have a very elegant memory of your cruise. Second is if you don't want to dress up there are so many options on Freedom Class ships like Johnny Rockets, Windjammer Cafe, and Chops Grille. Also during formal night its a good time to explore the ship since many people are going to eat or are getting pictures taken or meeting the captain. PS: usually formal night is considered CAPTAINS NIGHT which means you will be able to meet the captain.... they usually have a big party for him onboard also! In essence, enjoy your cruise and you may be suprised at how much you like dressing up for Captains Night!
There is no need to lock yourself away, all this means is you will not be able to use the main dining room as you will be refused entry due to you not wearing formal wear. There are other dining places aboard the ship.RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?
No, It'll be nice to wear formal clothes when you go to formal dinner. But you dont have to go if think its awkward. Theres tons things to do in the shipand lots of food. Go to windjammer.
NO you dont have to lock yourselves away! If you dont want to dress up then go to the buffet for dinner. However on formal nights I just wear dress pants and a longsleeve button up shirt
Just go and eat in the self service area that night! Lots of other people will be there as well!

Do you think RCCL's Oasis/Allure of the Sea is just too big of a ship? Will a ship that size help/hurt them?

Who would want to sail with over 7,000 people? Well at least when the rooms aren't getting filled like they want them to, they will basically give them away at a cheap price. That's a plus.Do you think RCCL's Oasis/Allure of the Sea is just too big of a ship? Will a ship that size help/hurt them?
As of now, I don't see any cheap prices on The Oasis of the Seas. The first year everyone wants to go on the "new" ship until another new one comes along. Personally 5,000 does seem like a lot, but most of the feedback I have seen has been positive. Maybe the people that don't like the crowds just don't go on the big ships. Price is an issue, now with the economy the way it is. Cruising is the best value around. You would think the supply of rooms is overflowing. However, cruise lines do retire or sell off their older ships, we just don't hear about it as much. RE: one of the older Princess ships being moved to P%26amp;O (another Carnival company) in Europe. All in all cruising is a great experience, and if you can get a good deal, it is the "icing on the cake."
I think we have hit a max size of ship for at least the next 10 yrs due to the economy. However, will RCCL be slashing prices to fill the ship, hardly. Across the 3 largest cruise lines, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian, the cruises on average are sold out 6-8 weeks in advance. This shows that there is still very high demand for cruises in general. The only way Royal Caribbean would slash prices is if there are significant problems with Royal Caribbean and that a large percentage of their core market, the people who have cruised with RCCL in the past, are now cruising on a different line.Do you think RCCL's Oasis/Allure of the Sea is just too big of a ship? The Freedom of the Seas has two different itineraries and this might change the night that is the second formal night.

The first formal night is night of the first full day. The Freedom leaves Miami on Sunday. The first formal night is thus Monday.

On the eastern itinerary it appears the second formal night is on Friday night (Friday is a day at sea). The first formal night is Monday night (which is the same as the western itinerary).

As for entertainment, there is always some entertainment in the theater every night.Does anyone know the show and dining schedule on RCCL Freedom of the Seas?
You can either find an answer to your question or post it for feedback at this site: CruiseCritic.com, "Boards", "Royal Caribbean". There is also a website that posts all kinds of info [activity lists, menus, etc], but I can't recall the name off the top of my head. If you do a search on Google or Yahoo for "Freedom of the Seas" it should come up.

Generally, formal nights are on sea days, but this varies a lot. You should be able to see what the specific dining times are by going to RCL's website. There are usually "early" [5:30-6:30 or so] and "late" seatings [7:00-8:30 or so], depending on how many dining rooms the ship has, etc. Your meal will take about 2 hours from start time. Shows are timed according to your dinner seating, and can occur either before or after dinner.

I highly recommend using a re-bidding strategy with priceline.com in Anaheim and you can get nice 3 to 4 star hotels such as the Marriott or Crowne Plaza which are a mile away for sometimes up to 50% off. I have used this technique several times and highly recommend it. Here are the details: http://www.how2dothings.com/how-to-find-鈥?/a>

Hope this helps.Good cheap hotel near Disneyland?
I always recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) and the Candy Cane Inn. While some hotels are closer, these two are very close to the front entrance, so you can walk back to the hotel for a swim or a nap in the afternoon. They are a step above the other hotels in the immediate area in terms of rooms, service, pool, and value. The HoJo recently added a themed pool, the only one outside the Disneyland Resort property.

    Check out the location below:

I known want you mean, there are some small hotels around that I swear they must be renting the rooms by the hour. Here are a few that we have stayed at or have had friends that stayed there and I visited. None at the time were roach motels.

    Anabella Hotel

    Portofino Inn and Suites

    Candy Cane Inn

    Jolly Roger Hotel
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

    Walking Distance Hotels Near Disneyland?

Can you recommend a good clean hotel within walking distance of Disneyland for September 2-4? (Under $125 please)

Thank you!!Walking Distance Hotels Near Disneyland?
Check out expedia.com, there seems to be several in your price range for your dates. Make sure you search in the Disneyland area, not all of Orange County. The Howard Johnson is a good bet at $109. Ramada Maingate $99. Desert Palms $119. Courtyard Anaheim $99. Park Vue Inn $114. You can check reviews of these hotels on TripAdvisor.com.
yes..www.vrbo.com is your best betWalking Distance Hotels Near Disneyland?
Try the Marriott suites. It's about 2 blocks from Disneyland.
    http://rhoda.joystar.com/Hotel.aspx?Agen鈥?/a> search using zip code
Most hotels in the Disney area have free shuttles to the park.

You should not have to walk
You can try to book "Anaheim Plaza Hotel %26amp; Suites". Is just right across the Disneyland. Price around $80.00s up. but for the long weekend ..... you might have to drive from hotel to disneyland instead of walking distance..... And you can also try "Radisson Hotel Maingate", price around $90s up... good luck!!
There is a Fairfield Inn directly across the street from the parks on Harbor Blvd. Their website shows rooms starting at $119.00 and includes a continental breakfast. You may be able to get a AAA discount or AARP. Call the hotel directly and see what they have, any packages, etc.

Some cousins stayed there recently and there were no complaints from them.

    Good luck!
    Hi,

I just saw a similar question for disneyland. Try this site, they offer a good search and prices as good as anyone else out there. http://www.hotelsanddeals.com/disneyland.html

Some of the Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels that are right across the street with easy access to the Disneyland Parks are:

    Ramada Inn Maingate

    Best Western Park Place Inn

    Tropicana Inn and Suites

    Carousel Inn and Suites

    Anaheim Camelot Inn and Suites

    Anaheim Fairfield Inn by Marriott

Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel (an extra block away but I do recommend this hotel)

I would recommend any of the hotels that I listed.
If you can afford the disneyland hotels, all of them are great- go to http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyla…

If you are looking for a great hotel cheap, go to http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?s… .

I booked the Crown Plaza, a 3.5 star hotel there, last spring for $45 a night using priceline. It was amazing. Just check out the forum posts or post your own questiosn to find out how. The people are very helpful.
While they are expensive, the Disneyland resort hotels are really really convenient. The walk to Disneyland is really short and when you stay at one you get to go into the park an hour early on some days which allows you to ride a bunch of rides with little to no wait. The rooms are pretty small and they are nothing special but they are really great when you are tired of walking and want to relax; you don't have to walk very far to get to your room. You also get to ride the Monorail into Downtown Disney which is right where the hotels are located. If you can afford them I would really recommend it. The cheapest of the 3 is the Paradise Pier Hotel.

I found this article on the "Top Ten Disneyland Hotels" it includes the Disneyland Resort hotels and some ones nearby for comparison.

You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.
We always recommend Camelot Inn, It's got a cute Tudor style look to it and has a crosswalk next to it that goes straight over Harbor Blvd to Disneyland so you don't have to wait for a shuttle like some of the other hotels have. They sell DL tickets, have a free continental breakfast, you can walk to other restaurants, etc. You can see the hotel from the monorail too, which is kind of fun. The link below shows the answers to frequently asked questions.
if you drive, the hyatt is nice. it's about a mile from disneyland, but you'll get there in about 5 minutes in the morning. if you don't drive, they have shuttle service.

we've stayed at the super 8 on disneyland drive (right by the parking garage) and it really isn't bad. it's much cheaper than the room we got at the hilton, and overall we were more satisfied with super 8 than hilton.

Anaheim Marriott Convention center is just down the block from Disneyland and is great. Marriott Courtyard is just on the other side of The Marriott and is cheaper and smaller, but just as nice. I found it a bit cramped compared to the older Courtyards. Doubletree is okay on the East side of Disneyland but I had a bad experience at the one in Irvine so I'm a bit prejudiced.

What attractions to see when in california?

Hi, I'm currently living in Vancouver, Canada. I'll be going to California with my family next month. It's our very first time there and it's going to be my first time going to the states. I'm completely in love with Hollywood and L.A. and stuff, I'm so excited!

So what things do you recommend seeing when visiting california? Here are some things that i've already planned.

    - Disneyland

    - Universal Studios

    - Lego land

I really want to go to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and beverly hills, is there a tour or something for that? I really want to see everything possible!

We'll be staying at a good neighbourhood hotel near Disneyland. Please help, thanks! =DWhat attractions to see when in california?
There are literally hundreds of things to do here in LA. Here is my list of “must sees”. Visit as many as you have time for.:

Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. #1 Destination.

Universal Studios: A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. #2 Destination.

Even if you don’t visit Disneyland or Universal Studios Tour, Downtown Disney District and Universal City Walk are very fun places to visit for shopping and eating. And they’re free to visit. If you’re adventurous, try the indoor skydiving (www.iflyhollywood.com). It’s a blast!

Hollywood: Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Chinese Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. The Hollywood %26amp; Highland complex has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater. The El Capitan theater, right across the street, is where Disney shows their movies. Check out starlinetours.com for a list of available tours.

Other theme parks include Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain, which are both more geared towards the fast-ride teen crowd.

Olvera Street/Union Station: Olvera Street is the birthplace of LA, and it emphasizes our Mexican heritage. In addition to the Avila Adobe (oldest building in LA), you can eat at some pretty good Mexican Restaurants, do a little shopping, and taste a churro. If you don’t want to go to Tijuana, this is as close as it gets without going there. Union Station has great architecture from a bygone age. Also, you are 2 blocks from Phillippe’s (see below).

Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed with exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all came to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something.

Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore. Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after dark, when it gets a little TOO interesting for my taste.

Santa Monica: Beach and Pier: Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that has been in a lot of TV and movies. After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach.

Sunset Boulevard began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the ocean, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its way.

Farmers Market and The Grove - A new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles landmark, It is right next to CBS, so walk across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". You might even get in.

Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage.

Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so beautiful that it keeps me fascinated. No matter whether you like their art, architecture, or view better, the Getty is sure to please. Free.

Attend a TV taping - You can get free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, tvtix.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It's very interesting to see a show being taped. The most popular, by far, is the Tonight show. Check the NBC web site for all the details there.

    Places to eat:

In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone.

Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. You might even see a celebrity. Maybe.

Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. The original location is at Beverly %26amp; Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown.

Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly %26amp; Melrose. Near CBS, you might spot a celebrity.

Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station and Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, it’s hot.

Tito’s Taco’s: Voted best tacos in LA, even though it’s in Culver City. King Taco is a good alternate if you can deal with East LA.

The Pantry: Corner of Figueroa and 9th, downtown. Huge portions, they never close, GREAT steak and eggs.

Medieval Times and/or Pirate’s Dinner Adventure: Dinner and an adventure show, both are on Beach Blvd in Buena Park, you get to eat with your hands.

    Places to Stay:

Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Hollywood Heights (formerly Holiday Inn Walk of Fame), all near Hollywood and Highland. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. There is also a nice place in Burbank called the Best Western Media Center, very close to Warner, NBC, and Universal Studios.

    Places to Shop:

    Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica

    The Grove, Los Angeles

    Americana @ Brand, Glendale

    Beverly Center, Los Angeles

    Citadel Outlets, Commerce

    Brea Mall, Brea

    The Block at Orange, Orange

    South Coast Plaza, C
I'm blessed to live in california and i hope you enjoy your visit. It seems your interested in LA.. so I would say to visit Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. You can find a tour anywhere in Hollywood that will take you to all of the tourists spots. I say visit Venice Beach as well..i think its interesting. I think Lego Land is overrated so I would suggest Sea World in San Diego but that's two and half hours from LA. If you have time I would say to go to San Francisco...I'm from the area so I think you can find more interesting things here but maybe im biased..Go to Fisherman's Wharf...China Town..and Union SquareWhat attractions to see when in california?
there many things you could do

you might like visiting the central Vally it so wonderful and it has perfect weather and nice mounties

you could visit a lot of beach

yeah Disney land is the best

they have many more nice place

here in Anaheim is the best

i also think that Glendale ca is awesome to

    hope you the very best

    My Questions about California...?

    1. Wut's a good hotel near DisneyLand?

    2. Are there different parks in DisneyLand like in DisneyWorld

    3. Are there any good shopping malls in Orance County?

    4. What are the chances of being discovered in Hollywood?

    5. What's the difference between DisneyLand and Disney's California Adventure?

    6. Can someone 40 inches ride rides in DisneyLand and/or Disney's California adventure?

7.What's more fun DisneyLand or Disney World?

    8. Is the weather okay to wear jeans in California?

    9. What is the "california girl"?

    10. How much are the tickets in DisneyLand?( for adults and children)

    11. What are your fav. rides in DisneyLand and Disney's California adventure?

    12. Are the rides and shows a big difference in DisneyWorld and DisneyLand?

    13. How much are the tickets for Universal?

    14. Does the Universal in California also have an Island of Adventures?

    15. Is the Universal in California better than the one in Florida?

    16. What are good rides in both Disney and Universal? (in Cali)My Questions about California...?
I can answer some of these questions:

    2. There are two parks at disney land in LA, disney land itself and california adventure

    4. not good at all, sorry!

    5. Disneyland is the orginal, California adventure is the new one that is split into themed areas of different things in california, but most of the rides don't connect to california. They have a good roller coaster, pixar stuff, and a cool water ride, its pretty cool but if you can only go to one i would say Disneyland.

    7. Disneyworld has more stuff obvously, so its funnier, but its not really a fair comparason. With the stuff it has, disneyland is great.

    8. Jeans are fine in california, but shorts are nice too.

    11. My favorite ride at disneyland is the Indiana Jones ride, also the pirates of the carribean. at California adventure I like Soaring over California and the water ride.

    12. There are different rides and shows at both places, for example disney world doesnt have the indiana jones ride, and some rides are a little bit different at the two places, like the haunted mansion has some small differences.

    14. Universal studios in california does not have islandsof adventures

    15. I liked the Universal studios in california better, but i think islands of adventures was the best of the parks.

    16. Indiana jones at Disneyland, and the terminator 3D show and tram ride at Universal.
i thought disney land was in florida. My Questions about California...?
    1) Not sure.. I live here! never needed a hotel here... you can try The Disneyland Hotel.

    2) I have never been to Disney world but in Disneyland it's divided into sections if you will... they have names like Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, ToonTown, etc...

    3) Orange County has quite a few shopping malls. There is the Village in Orange, Main Place mall in Santa Ana. A better one would be South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. But that's just a couple of them Orange County has many more!!

    4) The chances of getting discovered in Hollywood are unfortunately pretty slim...

    5) I am not a big fan of California Adventures! I think it's totally boring and a complete waste of money!! It has way less rides than Disney. I actually just went there a couple weeks ago and I spent maybe three hours there verses spending all day at Disney!

    6) This link has the height requirements for the different rides. It varies depending on the ride. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyla鈥?/a>

    7) Never been to Disney World..

    8) Jeans are okay. Shorts might be better as the weather has been heating up! but honestly I only wear jeans (Hate my legs) and I do just fine..

    9) Me? lol...

    10) $56 for ages 3-9 $66 for ages 10 and up. They actually have park hopper tickets available so you can pay a little more and go to both California Adventures and Disney.

    11) My favorite ride at Disney is Indiana Jones oh! and Pirates of the Caribbean. My fav ride at Adventures is that Soaring ride.

    12) Don't know this one... sorry

    13) Universal tickets are $54 for under 48" and $64 for people over 48"

    14) I don't think so... since I don't know what an Island of Adventures is.

    15) Never been to the Universal in Florida...

    16) If you go to Universal make sure you go on the tram tour! Oh!! and the Jurassic park ride!

    :)

Is it possible to go from Kyoto to Iga to Tokyo in one day?

    Hear me out.

I'd be waking up in a Kyoto hotel, check-out early and take the train to Iga JUST for the Ninja Museum. Before it gets late, I'd take the train from Iga to Maihama (to a hotel near Disneyland).

The reason I'm rushing to get to the hotel near Disneyland by night is so that I can get to Disneyland before it opens the next day.

So here's another problem, because I checked out from Kyoto to Iga I need a place to store my luggages. I'll be in japan for 2 weeks so there's a lot of baggage. Is there a place where I can store my luggage for a few hours in Iga until I leave for Maihama?

If this is possible, can someone give me a route? Which train I should take? To where? Japanese railways are confusing to me. =\

Sorry if these are stupid questions. This is the first time I'm planning a vacation. Is it possible to go from Kyoto to Iga to Tokyo in one day?
You have enough time to make that trip.

    from Kyoto station

1, Take Nara line to Kizu station (50 min)

2, Take Kansai Honsen line to Kamo station (10 min)

3, Change train to another Kansai Honsen line train to Iga Ueno station (40 min).

So this is Iga. I think you can get to Iga easily by noon. Then, after you enjoyed Iga until 5-6 pm, from Iga Ueno station, you go to Nagoya rather than going back to Kyoto because this is better,

4, Take Kansai Honsen line to Kameyama station (50 min)

5, Change train to another Kansai Honsen line train to Nagoya station(70 min)

6, Take Shinkansen to Tokyo station (100 min)

7, Take Keiyo line to Maihama station (20 min)

Note that there are not many trains around Iga (1 per hour). So you have to think about waiting time. But you can definitely get to Iga by noon if you leave your hotel around 7-8 am.

On luggage, it's better to use takkyubin as another said.
The day BEFORE you leave Kyoto forward your luggage to your hotel in Disney/maihama. Baggage delivery service called "Takkyubin" in Japanese is very reliable and not too expensive. Your baggage will be delivered the next day. It's not too expensive and many people in Japan use this option. Ask your hotel for TAKKYUBIN.Is it possible to go from Kyoto to Iga to Tokyo in one day?
It's may be possible. And also most of the train stations have some rental lockers. You can store most of your staff there.

5 day stay at disney hotel + 5 day hopper passes?

my family is going to disneyland, and we searched on the internet that if a family of 5 spends 5 days at a hotel near disneyland, it will cost $1, 400.00 and it says included 5 day hopper pass.........

does that mean our entire family of 5 can use that pass thats included or is it for only one member?5 day stay at disney hotel + 5 day hopper passes?
each person gets their own pass. double check and make sure you are getting 5 ticktes... the only exception, children under 3 go in free(or at least the last time i went it was that way).
I would suggest calling them babe, you don't want to drop all that cash and receive an unpleasant surprise.5 day stay at disney hotel + 5 day hopper passes?
i went to disneyland 2 years ago, and i believe the hopper passes are included in that price, which means for all of you.

but it depends on where you purchased from.
If it specifically says a family of 5, that probably means there are 5 separate Park hopper passes included (one per person). Read the fine print thoroughly before you pay for anything.
It sounds to me like it's for each person in your family...but I would call to make sure. You don't want to be disappointed when you get there.

That would be dumb if it were only for one person...but again I would call and ask.
call both of them for prices and what you get,,
You may want to call and check before you spend your money. The 5 day park hopper passes (on the Disneyland website) were listed at $189 each. Just as a reference.

  • Where is a nice mall to visit in anaheim?

we are going to stay in an hotel near disneyland so if it is near from there it will be betterWhere is a nice mall to visit in anaheim?
    Downtown Disney

    The Block at Orange

    Brea Mall

    South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa

    Fashion Island, Newport Beach.
Well these are a couple good malls around that area. In Anaheim there is the Anaheim Gardenwalk which is a couple of blocks from Disneyland, but there is not that much shopping options there, but there is a good selection of restaurants there like Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., P.F. Chang's, McCormick %26amp; Schmicks Grille, and Roy's Hawaiian. There is even an IMAX movie theatre, and a bowling alley, the 300 Anaheim. There is also Downtown Disney but it has limited shopping options, but a good selection of restaurants and entertainment like ESPN Zone, Rainforest Cafe, The House of Blues, and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. There is The Block At Orange which is a couple of exits away from Disneyland which is an outdoor mall, and there are more shops there, and some outlet stores also, and also there more entertainment options like AMC Theaters, Dave %26amp; Buster's, Lucky Strike Lanes, and the Van's Skatepark. If you want more shopping options, a couple exits away from The Block At Orange is the Westfield Mainplace mall in Santa Ana, and there is a Macy's, JC Penny, and Nordstrom as there department stores. If you want to the best mall, go to the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa which is southeast of Disneyland, and it's one of the biggest malls in the country. The department stores they have is Nordstrom, Sears, Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale's. It is probably the mall that is the most high end in the area. Another good mall is Fashion Island in Newport Beach, which is southeast of Disneyland, and it is an outdoor mall, and it's also high end with department stores like Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Macy's. One last mall I'm going to mention is the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine which is east of Disneyland, and it's another outdoor mall which has a Macy's, Target, and Nordstrom as there department stores, and a good selection of restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Yard House, California Pizza Kitchen, and P.F. Chang's, and for entertainment, they have an Edward's Cinema, and a Dave and Buster's. For more information about these shopping centers mentioned above, and check out what stores they have, and where they are located the websites are below in the sources.Where is a nice mall to visit in anaheim?
There is no mall in Anaheim, only outdoorsy shops here and there within plazas. There is a new outdoors mall called GARDEN WALK, that's minutes away from Disneyland and all the surrounding hotels, so you can pretty much walk to it. You can find restaurants, shops, and bars at Garden Walk. Enjoy your visit :)
Downtown Disney is a small outdoor mall, more suited for tourists, but I like it. They have things like Build A Bear Workshop, the huge World of Disney store, Sephora, Disney Vault, House of Blues, Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, Lego Store and a bunch of others.

South Coast Plaza Mall is a huge indoor mall in Costa Mesa which is fairly close by. It has everything.

How much are for 3 days 2 adults (18+) and 1 child (15 years old) Disneyland Tickets?

Okay so my dad said the there is this 3 day package thing, for disneyland where you could use the same ticket for 3 days! is that true? and does that include parking ticket and is that deal have a cost for each person (3)? Well im 15 yrs old and i went to disneyland when i was 3, so its been 12 yrs, and now its my first time in 12 yrs! so i dont know how to get an estimate of the cost! and we will find a hotel nearby not a disney resort ( if u have a good but cheap hotel near disneyland, in mind do recomend with adress). So we will be leaving my house at moring of Oct 1 and got to disneyland on Oct 2 and leave evening of Oct 4 so i just need to know how much it will cost for that including each person (3: 2 adults 18+ and Me [15]) and the parking cost, if there is one! Thnx! How much are for 3 days 2 adults (18+) and 1 child (15 years old) Disneyland Tickets?
Check out Coscto! They have tickets there that are MUCH cheaper.
Basically you are all going to be charged the adult price for entrance to Disneyland as their cutoff is 13 and yes, you can use a multi day Disneyland ticket. This is called the Park Hopper and they run from 1 to 6 days and can be used for entrance to both Disneyland and California Adventures on the same day. Currently the prices are:

    3 Day Park Hopper $ 214

    4 Day Park Hopper $ 234

    5 Day Park Hopper $ 246

    6 Day Park Hopper $ 251

I agree with Obviousman about hotels in the vicinity. Your best bet is one within walking distance of Disneyland and there are no shortage of those. The Howard Johnson was quite nice when I stayed at it a while back and there are several other nice ones in the area. When booking a hotel check extras such as parking which can add a bit to the nightly cost. I fly to LA when going there so parking is not something I worry about. How much are for 3 days 2 adults (18+) and 1 child (15 years old) Disneyland Tickets?
What you are talking about is a 3-day park hopper ticket. If you go to disneyland.com. That will cost $214 per person from Disneyland.com. Discount sites like wellspringtravel.com sell 3 day park hoppers for $175.

If these are booked, the BW Park Place Inn is probably the closest (adjacent to the crosswalk that goes to Disneyland), and is also pretty good. If you鈥檙e looking for a low-budget motel, it looks as if the Alpine Inn has cleaned itself up a bit, so I鈥檒l give it a tentative recommendation for the cash-strapped traveler.

    Check out the location below:

If you stay at the HoJo, you can walk to the park and avoid the $15 per day parking charge at Disneyland.

Disneyland vacation question. (a re post to ask courageous parents who have done it with little ones).?

we were thinking of going during spring break, and doing disney for a few days as well as knotts berry farm and the ocean for the remainder of the trip so the kids can play in real sand and waves.

my boys are 3 and 4 years old and a 7 month old. as well as my step daughter but not sure if her mom is taking her for spring or not.

what would be the best way to plan this trip, package deals or separate? recommend a hotel near disneyland? all information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advanceDisneyland vacation question. (a re post to ask courageous parents who have done it with little ones).?
I'd do it as a package deal it would end up being cheaper in the long run unless you can find some tickets that are cheaper for children under 5yrs. There is a lot of hotels around the airport and close to disney land that are nice. Really any hilton owned hotel is nice other than the hilton garden inn I wasn't impressed with that hotel. Maybe try an Embassy suites hotel. They are all suites so you wouldn't be as packed together and they are very nice with free breakfast.

    Area around Disneyland Paris ?

I am hoping to get a hotel near Disneyland Paris and I was wondering what the area near and surrounding Disneyland Paris is

thanks :)Area around Disneyland Paris ?
Marne La Vallee is a new town which has no real history other than as the site for Disneyland. It did not exist prior to 1965.

There is almost nothing there that is not connected with some modern commercial venture.

It is soulless, sterile, and dreadful; one vast strip mall and housing development that has about as much connection to traditional France as Orlando has to the United States.

What should I create for a hotel logo?

I need to create a logo for a premium hotel near disneyland, the Anaheim Plaza. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I should create that would be professional as well as apealingWhat should I create for a hotel logo?
First of all do you have an image of the building around? There has to be something of the shape or texture of it you can use, maybe echoing it in the texture created by the spacing of the letter.

I just did an image search of the Anaheim Plaza. I noticed that they have a palm tree in their logo which looks absolutely nothing like the trees in the images of the building and pool. While professional it's cheap. You are selling the place so you should try to give them something they will experience or see when they get there. Look at pictures and see what textures and shapes you can lift.

The Cheapest way to get from LAX to Disneyland. ?

A friend and I are taking our kids to Disneyland and meeting our husbands there. (their training in TX and get a brake before deploying). We are trying to stay within budget being from Hawaii and all, it's really adding up.

Please Help us find the cheapest way to get to our Hotel near Disneyland. A round trip of $30 or less is great!

Please, please, please help us! We leave on Wednesday...so help ASAP!

The Cheapest way to get from LAX to Disneyland. ?
ChipO's answer is right. There is the Disneyland Resort Area Shuttle. There is also the Super Shuttle (about $17/pp). You just walk out of the terminal and go to the shared ride van area and they will take you to Anaheim. You'll need to know the adress of the hotel you are staying at.

I have used this service before.
If you go through Disneyland.com and get the package hotel and tickets they have ground transportation which is $64.00 round trip and is for as many people the package is for. There is also Southern California Gray Line which is $30.00 for Adult round trip and $22.00 for a Child round trip her is the web-site http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.鈥?/a>

If your looking for a car rental company Avis is great but the rates are different depending on how many days yu need a rental car. Travelocity is also great for cheap travel. Hope this helps. The Cheapest way to get from LAX to Disneyland. ?
if you dont mind using transit it will only cost $2.50 per person

first from lax you take the Lax "G:": shuttle to the Aviation terminal

    (this bus is free)

then you board the green line (cost is $1.25) get the ticket from the ticket vending machine)_

then take the Green line to its last stop (norwalk)

then board line 460 which will take direct to Disneyland

    and thats another $1.25

The cheapest and most reliable way to make this trip is to take the Disneyland Resort Express Bus. It will pick you up from LAX and drop you off right at your hotel. One-way adult ticket is $20. Here is more information.
look at sites such as expedia.com, priceline.com, hotels.com, travelocity.com. A lot of them have deals when you book a hotel and flight, also they have last minute deals.
Well there is a hotel in Disneyland is so nice my kids loved it and the rooms are so Pretty and the kids will love it %26lt;3
If you have three or more traveling together, the cheapest way is to rent a car.

There's a shuttle to Disneyland. You'll see it when you get out of the terminal.

    Disneyland paris?

planning to visit paris frm 11th of april with two kids aged 1.5 and 4 ,how many days are enuff with emphasis being on disneyland ?also which area shud we book the hotel in near disneyland or sum cheap one in paris the difference being around 50%???also which attractions are must see in paris?

any gud cheap hotels near disneyland or in paris wud b a gret help

    regardsDisneyland paris?
I would recommend skipping Euro-Disney. Honestly. Disney World in Orlando is much, much better and larger than one in Paris. You'll be in Paris and there are so many more amazing and interesting sites to see and things to do than Disney.

If you are looking for fun activities for kids, definately check out Park France Miniature. It's a 5 hectare park of mini French cities, monuments and landmarks that are represented in great detail but all in miniature. It even has its own tiny TGV railway running through it. Also, it's only a stone鈥檚 throw away from breath taking Versailles home of both Louis XIV the Sun King and Marie Antionette.

Make sure you see Versailles while you are out in that area. It is absolutely breathtaking. Your children will enjoy the famous white Lipizzaner Stallions performance at Versailles. These horses do spectacular leaps and maneuvers, once used by riders in saddle to protect and defend themselves on the battlefield. It's like watching a great ballet but all on horseback.

To get a sneak peak of what Versailles looks like, rent the Academy Award-winning 2006 film Marie Antionette directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Kristen Dunst. The production crew was given unprecedented access to the Palace of Versailles including the famous Hall of Mirrors.

In addition to the typical tourist sites like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, make sure you check out the Paris Opera building: Op茅ra Garnier. You can tour the building during the day. It's a very ornate building richly decorated with friezes, columns, and winged figures among other statues and embellishments. This richness continues inside with velvet, gold leaf, and nymphs and cherubs and grand staircases. The auditorium's central chandelier weighs over six tons, and its ceiling was painted in 1964 by Chagall. It's just beautiful! The Phantom of the Opera is a French novel adapted many times into film %26amp; stage productions. This Opera building ewas the inspiration for that novel due to the underground water from the foundation pit of the building, which created a huge subterranean lake. The employees claimed the opera house is haunted by a mysterious ghost and the story was born.

Right behind the Opera building are the Galeries Lafayette which is a 10 story gallery of gorgeous high end shops, the building has a beautiful glass and steel dome, and Art Nouveau staircase built in 1912 by the architect Cahnautin. The building is also a historivcal monument.

Try to spend a sunny, day strolling lazily through St Germain and the Latin Quarter. Lots of narrow, cobblestone streets, cafes, bakeries, patisseries and quaint boutiques. A very unusual shop to peek into while in St Germain is bizarre, high-end, elaborate taxidermy shop called Deyrolle. To describe it as a taxidermy shop hardly does it justice though. The shop sells and rents taxidermy-ed tigers, lions, zebras, elephants, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, birds...everything you can think of. You can rent or purchase them. All of the animals died from natural causes and have been donated by farms and preserves. It's like visiting a natural history museum.

You are so lucky! I wish I was going to Paris. Bon Voyage and have a great time!
you can see Disneyland in a day the children will not be able to go on some of the rides. I would stay in ParisDisneyland paris?
    go to New Zealand !
I would say to dedicate two days to Disneyland Paris. There is a lot to see, and also a lot of waiting and with small children you will be restricted. For going to Disney, it is best to stay in one of the Disney hotels. they are too expensive and offer free shuttles to the gates. i think they have one called Santa Fee which is their lowest priced.

Things to do in Paris. This is really going to depend on what you enjoy doing. There is always the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, etc. Maybe a day trip out to Chartres, or Rhiems.

Cheap ways to go to Disneyland? Anaheim,CA?

I really want to go to disneyland this summer with my friends but I don't have a lot of money. Does anyone know of cheap hotels near disneyland? one with public transportation to disneyland or walking distance. Do you have any tips on how to not spend a lot there? Thank you :DCheap ways to go to Disneyland? Anaheim,CA?
There are a lot of hotel/motels around Disneyland that offer pretty cheap rates in comparison to what Disney hotels cost. Some of them even offer something called a Good Neighbor package where you save a little money on your room, and Disneyland tickets as well ( I don't know if this is still in effect, but it was a year ago). Also, a great feature about getting a hotel around Disneyland is that it is either within walking distance, or it offers a FREE shuttle to Disneyland. (:

As for not spending a lot of money at Disneyland, I would opt to not eat every meal inside the park. There are plenty of more reasonably priced restaurants nearby. However, if you do choose to eat in the park, places such as Red Rockett's Pizza Port offer a little more food, for a little less money.

Have a great trip to Disneyland! (:Cheap ways to go to Disneyland? Anaheim,CA?
Cheapest hotels within walking distance are the Alpine Inn and the Anaheim Islander Inn.

Personally, I like the HoJo and the Candy Cane Inn.

    Disneyland to Angel Park Anaheim?

We are staying at one of the hotels near disneyland and need to get to Angel Park for a Supercross. This in in Jan 08. How would we best get there? Walk/Cab/Public Transport? Please help?Disneyland to Angel Park Anaheim?
It is 2.2 miles from Disneyland to Angels Stadium. The AMA Supercross is held on a Saturday evening. There is no public transit between these two points. You have to either walk, or use a taxi.

However, most of the larger hotels in the Disneyland area have a shuttle van that takes guests to Disneyland. If your hotel has such a shuttle van, perhaps you can persuade them to take you to Angels Stadium. Most of these types of events end around 11:00 pm so make sure the van still operates at that time.
It might be a bit of a walk, so I would probably get a cab. Shouldn't cost you much, maybe around 10 - 15 bucks.Disneyland to Angel Park Anaheim?
    Firstable, welcome to Anaheim, California.

Walking from Disneyland to the Angel's Stadium is not impossible, but it is not worth trying. Please take a taxi on Harbor Blvd. (the big street outside Disneyland) or you could have your hotel manager arrange car service for you.

    Have fun in Anaheim.
take a cab to Angel's stadium. It should not be too expensive.
I'd say walking wouldnt be a very good option. Driving from Disneyland to Angel Park is about 15 minutes so it would be a bit of a walk. There is no public transport availabe (it has been stated why in previous answers), so you would have to either walk for about 30 minutes or take a cab.

I live in Los Angeles BTW.

I found this neat hotel for families - they have suites with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. It's in Anaheim. Here's the link:

    http://www.portofinoinnanaheim.com/disne鈥?/a>

They have packages with Disney tickets and your room. What I would do is stay at that hotel the entire trip, go to Disneyland your couple of days and then over to Knotts (they're in cities right next to one another) and then go to the beaches that are West of Anaheim. That way you don't have to move hotels everytime you want to do something else on your vacation.

Everything is so close that it doesn't pay to move hotels with a family everytime you are going to do a new attraction in or near Disneyland. The beaches are great in that area too. This package with a room and tickets might be a good deal - I'd look on their website and then call them and see what they could put together for you in package.

Good luck. Sounds like a fun trip!Best way to plan a trip to disneyland, knotts berry farm etc?
    Go to there websites.

I know that disney has a DVD that they give free online so you can plan in advance and they give all info there.

They also have lists of beautiful hotels near disneyland and also disneyland hotels.

Im going to disneyland friday...whats a good, decent hotel within walking distance ?

I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a hotel. But I also don't want a ran down hotel with bad service..what are some good, clean hotels near disneyland were I can walk less then a mile and pay less the $60 a day. I will be there for 2 nights and 3 days.

A complimentary Breakfest is a plus, a microwave. And fridge would be nice also..Im going to disneyland friday...whats a good, decent hotel within walking distance ?
Less than $60 a day? At that rate you're going to be walking a lot more than a mile, and forget about any amenities. Last time I checked, the going rate was at least $85 a day, and that's not for a Disney hotel.

Check out the Tropicana Inn %26amp; Suites, The Park Vue, The Park Place or The Candy Cane Inn. These (and other hotels on Harbor) are all within walking ditance of the main gates. None of these offer rooms at your suggested $60 rate, but they do offer other amenities and are within a quick walk of the park.

Wait - FRIDAY??? THIS Friday? You should have booked a hotel weeks or months ago. Good luck.
We just stayed at the Motel 6 Maingate, it was $62 a night. Unfortunately no comp breakfast, fridge or microwave, but the motel was just remodeled and is definitely the nicest Motel 6 I've ever stayed in. And it's also 2 blocks from the park. We walked to and from every day, it's just a 10 minute walk. And if you don't want to walk, there's a shuttle that goes to the park (but you pay a few bucks a day to use it).Im going to disneyland friday...whats a good, decent hotel within walking distance ?
Sure, try the Fantasyland Hotel. Ask for Tink, the manager. If you tell her Walt sent you, then she'll give you a discount.

Seriously, the going rate for a hotel near Disneyland is over $100. I always recomment the Howard Johnson or the Candy Cane Inn. Both are an easy walk to the front gate.

How long & how much from Disneyland to Universal Studio by Metro?

I'll stay 3 nights in LA and looking for the hotel near Disneyland or Universal Studio. Any suggestion for my trip plan (no driving car) ? THANKSHow long %26amp; how much from Disneyland to Universal Studio by Metro?
Disneyland is in Anaheim and Universal is in Universal (like North Hollywood. You may want to see if there is a shuttle that can take you from Anaheim to Universal. Its roughly an hour driving with no traffic. But that's never in L.A. taxi will be kinda expensive too. You can take the bus but in L.A. but i don't think there is a metro line(Subway) that runs from both sides of town!! Good luck and really really really see if you can a hold of a car in L.A.
The red line serves Universal City from LA's Downtown (of course, there are many LA residents who have never been Downtown, period), but there is no Metro to the Disneyland Resort.

No car in LA = don't expect to go anywhere fast. Everything in LA was built with the automobile in mind. Including shopping centers and restaurants, which are spaced far away from each other and with ample parking lots.

In fact, Disneyland doesn't even bother giving public transit information in any of its advertising. How long %26amp; how much from Disneyland to Universal Studio by Metro?
You can purchase a shuttle with your tickets. If you purchase a package with Disneyland, they will give you the option to buy just tickets, tickets with transfers, or tickets with transfers and deluxe tour. I also believe they have this if you just book tickets.

You could also purchase the passport from Disney for transfers. They offer a bus that goes to several attractions in the area as well as universal. It is about $100 per person.

    Hope this helps!
there's no public transport for this exact journey, but check with your travel agent as you maybe able to arrange a shuttle transport through your hotel.
From the Anaheim Station, take the MetroLink to Union Station. An adult fare would cost $6.75

From Union Station, take the Red Line (North Hollywood) to Universal Station. An adult fare would cost $1.25

Estimated time: 1 hour and 25 minutes

you acan check in as late as you want!!!! duh! ha i suggest a hotel with a bed and bathroom.. =)
You can ask for an early check-in. Most hotels will usually let you do that if they have empty rooms. Here is a list of hotels near Disneyland and most of them are within walking distance to the park or offer free shuttles to the park.

    http://www.socalthemeparks.com/disneylan鈥?/a>Hotel stay near disneyland..?
Marriott Residence Inn, Los Alamitos, CA
Most of the hotels by Disneyland let you check in your luggage early, then you can go to Disneyland. Most even take it to your room for you.

I highly recommend the Howard Johnson or Candy Cane Inn. Just more bang for your buck.
You should be asking the hotels Right now tourism is down and they should be glad to take you in early.

    But ask them not us
This page has maps of the hotels right across the street from Disneyland. You can check in early, even if your room is not available. They will hold it for you and hold your bags if needed. Then show up whenever you are ready (7PM, 9PM, whatever) and get the key to your room.

  • I want a hotel near Disneyland, but can't afford Anaheim. I'm getn Courtyard, Cypress. Inputs on hotel/area?

There are reasonably priced hotels / motels in the Anaheim area, you just have to look for them, but if you prefer looking in Cypress, that's fine. So too would be cities such as Fullerton, Buena Park, and Garden Grove. Stanton is okay, but has several industrial areas. All these cities are just a few miles drive to Anaheim. Avoid Santa Ana, its a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.I want a hotel near Disneyland, but can't afford Anaheim. I'm getn Courtyard, Cypress. Inputs on hotel/area?
there are about 10,000 hotels/motels around dizzyland.

take previous posters advise, stick with the chains. unless you can find something with a good rating on hotels.com

if you have AAA, see if they offer discounts.
I stay at this hotel frequently while in Orange County on business. Nothing fancy, but it is always clean and neat %26amp; relatively quiet. I beleive they also have a shuttle to Disneylan; if not, the bus goes right by the hotel toward Disneyland, and is pretty cheap. Also, Knotts Berry farm is about 1/2 mile directly south of this hotel; another (smaller) amusement park within OC.

Nieghborhood here is not bad, but keep in mind that, as in any big metropolitan area, you need to take typical precautions to ensure your safety.

I think you will find you enjoy your stay!I want a hotel near Disneyland, but can't afford Anaheim. I'm getn Courtyard, Cypress. Inputs on hotel/area?
The problem with getting a hotel near Disneyland is that people rent the crappy hotels because of the demand. I would suggest that if you do not stay close to the park and you are near a freeway. There are some "shady" neighborhoods within 5-10 miles from the parks. Look on neutral websites such as www.tripadvisor.com that have feedback for various hotels.

You may just have to pay for the hotel. I would highly suggest getting an Entertainment Book for Orange County because you will be able to save on a lot of things that you will need during your trip.

I could help you more if I knew when you were traveling, if you will have a car, and what you are expecting to pay for lodging.
depending on the amount of money you want to spend or save plus the distance you want to travel back and forth to the park, check some hotel websites and do a search on Anaheim plus or minus 10-15 miles and see what comes up. Most hotel chains have websites that you can do this from.

    www.choicehotels.com

    www.motel6.com

even Yahoo Travel is a good place to start to see what is in the area

If you belong to AAA, ask them. They have the scoop on all the hotels in different areas and they can find you one in your price range and distance.

We are 13 years old and there are 6 of us, plus 2 adults.

We will probably take 2 cars, get 2 hotel room, and stay for 2 or 3 days. We live about 365 miles from Disneyland.

How much do you think the following will cost?

    -Gas

    -Tickets

    -Hotel

Also, what are good hotels near Disneyland that aren't to expensive? Some questions about a trip to Disneyland?
it will cost each of you between $200 and $300 each not including food,

stay at the Annabella hotel, very clean, great pool and you can walk in to the park through downtown Disney, it's about $100 or $25 each a night but worth it.

tickets are around $150 but look for deals, you may find them for $99

gas should be no more than $20 each

    good luck

You can rent a townhouse cheaper than Holiday Inn.Try Floridachoice homes.com We always rent a pool house the privacy is great. Just buy some cereal and such to save on meals. We had a grill at our last place. Shrimp on the barbie by the pool!! Very close to disney and 10 minutes to Universal.
It seems people are getting Disneyland and Disney World confused. Your best way to find the answer is to go to the Disney web site and check out the "Good Neighbor Hotels" around Disneyland. You should be able to find one that accepts pets and is within walking distance of the park, or even has front door shuttle service.
There are lots of hotels near disneyland. Some are even with walking distance. Here is a long list. http://www.socalthemeparks.com/disneylan鈥?/a>

All Best Western hotels allow pets
I did some research (for my own trip) and the Doubletree Anaheim Convention Center got really good reviews from both Yelp.com and tripadvisor.com. Also, the price is reasonable.
There are a number of them, but your best bet is the Hotel Menage, on the corner of Ball and Katella. It is the closest of the pet-friendly hotels to Disneyland. You aren't going to get a "breakfast buffet", but you might get a continental breakfast.

    Anabella Hotel

    Anaheim Plaza

    Residence Inn Maingate

    Anaheim Hilton

Anaheim Marriott Suites (actually in Garden Grove, but close)
the embassy suites that is on harbor blvd. i have stayed there multiple times and love it. im pretty sure they allow pets and have a really good breakfast available. i have walked from there to disneyland before (just hop on the tram for the timon and pumba parking lot across the street from the convention) or take the red trolley. its decently priced. 2 queens and a sofa bed in a true suite. the only problem i have ever had was the kitchen setting off the fire alarm at like 8 or 9.

Im looking for a well priced but nice hotel near Disneyland Anaheim for my trip there this April... Any ideas?

Check out the Best Western in Westminster, they have several. It is not that far from Disneyland(10 minutes at most) and they have way better deals that the price gouging that goes on at establisments around the park. They have prices starting at around $60 a night.Im looking for a well priced but nice hotel near Disneyland Anaheim for my trip there this April... Any ideas?
stay at the disneyland hotel thats heaps of fun!
There are several websites you can check to get great prices on hotels. I would check the website below for ideas.Im looking for a well priced but nice hotel near Disneyland Anaheim for my trip there this April... Any ideas?
There are tons of hotels at all price ranges now - different from a decade ago when there were just shabby places surrounding Disneyland. Now there are lots of new nice hotels with competitive prices. With the shuttle bus system that Disney has now, getting back and forth is easy even if you pick one that is a bit farther away. Just make sure it has a shuttle link, and you'll be fine.
bECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY NICE PLACES AND YOUR PRICE RANGE IS REALISTIC; I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TRY ONE OF THE TRAVEL INTERNET SERVICES.
I highly recommend the Disneyland Hotel. It's about $250 a night, but it's worth the money, in my opinion.

If you don't want to spend that much money, I recommend checking out the Candy Cane Inn. It's only about $95 a night, and that rate includes a shuttle to Disneyland, a fairly good continental breakfast, and nice rooms!

Candy Cane is also the most popular/highest rated hotel on Yahoo Travel!

We absolutely LOVE the Anabella Hotel. Check out their website: anabellahotel.com. The grounds are beautiful, as are the rooms. Tripadvisor.com also will have user candid photos which will show you even more. We got a two bedroom suite with a marbel bathroom for around $100 a night! They have two pools, a family one and a "no kids" one. Plus you can walk to the parks in about ten minutes if you cut through the fabulous but oh-so-expensive Grand California Hotel to get to the entrance gate.
The least expensive Disney hotel is the classic Disneyland Resort Hotel. It starts out in the low $200s a night in the off-peak season. I also recommend the Peacock Inn %26amp; Suites, which are located just down the street. They are great!

  • Anyone know of a hotel near disneyland anaheim, ca that is pretty nice/modern and romantic?

    Romantic is relative.

My top picks (for upscale) are the Grand Californian on property, the Disneyland Hotel on property, the Fairfield Inn Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott Suites, or Embassy Suites (either one).

Hope his helps!Anyone know of a hotel near disneyland anaheim, ca that is pretty nice/modern and romantic?
The Menage is nice and modern, but not romantic.Anyone know of a hotel near disneyland anaheim, ca that is pretty nice/modern and romantic?
Romantic? The Grand Californian is good for that. If you can't afford that, try the Candy Cane Inn. Or the Doubletree.
