Extended stay hotels near Disneyland or LA area?

Me, my husband, and 2 kids are going to California for a week this summer. We are planning to visit San Diego Zoo, the Disney parks, Universal Studios, and Hollywood. My thought is to fly into San Diego, rent a car, go to the zoo, then drive to the Anaheim/LA area for the week, and fly home from LA. I would like to find a hotel room with a kitchen for a good rate (so we don't have to eat out every meal for a week). I usually use priceline or hotels.com when I book hotel rooms, but they don't give you the option to choose a room with a kitchen. Anyone have any ideas... or other tips for our trip.

This is our first trip to CA (from TX). The girls are 12 and 3. Thanks in advance for any info/tips you can offer.Extended stay hotels near Disneyland or LA area?
The Hotel Pepper Tree Kitchen Suites ( http://www.resideo.com/us/california/ana鈥?/a> )might be your best bet (I went to http://www.resideo.com/ and searched for "Disneyland kitchen" and found several results).

Do a "Yahoo" search of "Extended stay hotels near Disneyland", then scroll down to the 6th entry, "Anaheim-Orange County extended stay hotels". This site will list every hotel in the Orange County area that offers full kitchens in their rooms. The rate you will pay depends on how long you will stay, what city you are in, and if you want a separate room for the children.

Orange County will usually be less expensive than staying in Los Angeles County. It really isn't that far to the "touristy" places in L.A. (about 15-25 miles). Anaheim will be more expensive, due to it's proximity to Disneyland, than neighboring cities like: Cypress, Fountain Valley, La Mirada, Fullerton, Buena Park, Los Alamitos. The only "seedy" area in Orange County is Santa Ana, a designated sanctuary city for illegal aliens.

May I suggest that you price flying into / out of Orange County (John Wayne) Airport (SNA). Round trip tickets are usually less than two one ways. The drive to San Diego is only about 75 miles, and a very beautiful, scenic, and usually uncrowded trip. (most rental cars have unlimited mileage).

You are in for a wonderful experience. Welcome to California, and y'all have a great time.Extended stay hotels near Disneyland or LA area?
I would recommend the Extended Stays America "Convention Center", which is also close enough to Disneyland to walk. The address is 1742 S. Clementine St, Anaheim. If you don't want to walk to Disneyland, you can take the ARTS shuttle.

Other tips:

Arrive early, when the park opens.

If you want to eat inside the park, I really like the Carnation Cafe on Main St. For a really special meal, eat at the Blue Bayou, the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It's expensive, but unforgettable. Be sure to ask for a table by the water, and eat there for lunch so you can get the signature Monte Cristo sandwich (big enough to split). For reservations, you can call 714-781-DINE. Call now for Blue Bayou reservations; It's very popular, especially with the new Pirates movie coming out this month.

Have fun!

I know there is an Extended Stay America and a Residence Inn in La Mirada. Both right off the 5 freeway. I think staying in La Mirada is a happy medium between Anaheim and LA. The 5 Freeway is what you will be taking both ways to get to either location. Both are nice places to stay also.
