RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?

I have booked tickets for 7 nights cruise with Liberty of the sea (Mediterranean) in july, and i was wondering about formal nights, I read somewhere that people are required to wear formal clothes/dress? my hubby and I aren't exactly formal wear type of people and we don't wanna purchase suits or dress just for this cruise... so do we have to lock ourselves in our cabin during formal nights?RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?
Yes you heard right! There is formal night.....I hate getting dressed up to but learned to love it on a cruise. First of all when you are entering or exiting the main dining room they will ask you to take a picture. It comes out really nice since then you have a very elegant memory of your cruise. Second is if you don't want to dress up there are so many options on Freedom Class ships like Johnny Rockets, Windjammer Cafe, and Chops Grille. Also during formal night its a good time to explore the ship since many people are going to eat or are getting pictures taken or meeting the captain. PS: usually formal night is considered CAPTAINS NIGHT which means you will be able to meet the captain.... they usually have a big party for him onboard also! In essence, enjoy your cruise and you may be suprised at how much you like dressing up for Captains Night!
There is no need to lock yourself away, all this means is you will not be able to use the main dining room as you will be refused entry due to you not wearing formal wear. There are other dining places aboard the ship.RCCL Liberty of the sea cruise question?
No, It'll be nice to wear formal clothes when you go to formal dinner. But you dont have to go if think its awkward. Theres tons things to do in the shipand lots of food. Go to windjammer.
NO you dont have to lock yourselves away! If you dont want to dress up then go to the buffet for dinner. However on formal nights I just wear dress pants and a longsleeve button up shirt
Just go and eat in the self service area that night! Lots of other people will be there as well!
