Any DVC members been to the Animal Kingdom Villas yet?

(DVC- disney vacation club) We have upcoming reservations and I wanted to know how the resort was. How were the accomodation, food, etc. Thanks!!Any DVC members been to the Animal Kingdom Villas yet?
The rooms are beautiful and modern. At the moment because they are still building the new addition for the DVC (Kidani Village - due to open 1 May 2009) the DVC rooms are in the main hotel (they just converted rooms into studios and 1/2 beds). AKL is a wonderful resort, you won't regret staying there!

Here's a link to photos of the DVC rooms at AKL:

They have split the rooms into different categories. The budget one is for rooms which are smaller than the average DVC room. All Standard rooms face the pool (which is a good option at the moment as they are doing lots of construction - it shouldn't disturb your stay but at least facing the pool you'll get some peace and quiet!).

The food is wonderful. The counter-service restaurant, Mara, has great options. Boma is a buffet for both breakfast and dinner and I wouldn't miss both, food is awesome! Jiko is a higher end restaurant serving amazing food as well. And the pool (zero-entry) at AKL is wonderful.

Plus you don't have to share buses with anyone else which is a plus. Did you know that as a DVC member you can buy the disney dining plan along with your stay (you don't have to add tickets like non-dvc members do). It's only $37.99 a day and gives you a counter service meal a day (meal, drink and dessert), full service meal a day (main course, dessert and drink) and one snack a day (most things under $4). So if you were spending the whole day at AKL you could have a pastry and coffee for breakfast with your snack credits, lunch at Mara and dinner at Boma all for $37.99, a great deal! But make your reservations asap as restaurants at WDW book up fast!

Have a great holiday!!!Any DVC members been to the Animal Kingdom Villas yet?
Yes, the best villas are the Wilderness Lodge villas though. Animal Kingdom lodge first of all it smells terrible. It's not as good as the Wilderness Lodge at all. The room wasn't as nice the decor wasn't as great either. The wilderness lodge villas had more things to offer and it was by the magic kingdom, who wouldn't want that?! Stay at the wilderness lodge one it'd be a better choice. Plus, the wilderness lodge has a better restauraunt, two actually.
