First time on vacation to Orlando, FL! Advice please!?

I'm 22 years old and I'm going with my boyfriend Jose, whose 21. Just us--no kids. What should I bring in my carry-on bag to Orlando, FL? Is it common for luggage to get misplaced? I am coming in from Chicago, IL with no stops--just straight to Universal. Taking SW Airlines.

Anything special I should pack in my luggage? I'm Irish--so burn easy- any advice? I got 100+ Sunblock. lol

Anything intresting around Orlando that I can go to? I'm going to Universal, SeaWorld, %26amp; Aquatica. Staying 8days/ 7nights. Disney is not an option. Beyond poor. lol Gator mini golf? Gatorland? Ice Bar? Downtown Disney is free-- anything fun there? Cirque du soliel worth it?

Like I said-- 1st time traveling and I'm from Chicago-any advice will help. I have 6 weeks left to go (thank god I'm not missing the taste of chicago! lol

Thanks so much guys! Help me out here! TiffanyFirst time on vacation to Orlando, FL! Advice please!?
First time to Orlando, awesome!

Universal is VERY fun, you'll have a great time! Make sure to get the Express Pass. It's a bit extra but you'll be grateful for it, instead of standing long lines in the heat. Make sure you bring water bottles to the park - you can bring your own water in and refill, as it's really expensive.

Luggage usually arrives where it is supposed to. If not, ask someone who works for the airline and it could have been flagged and been searched. I've never lost luggage, although I have had it stolen.. that was once only and have never had a problem with it since then.

In your carry on luggage, make sure you pack some snacks and magazines. Plane food is gross! As for your clothes, keep it light and breathable, Florida is HOT! Also, when your down there buy an after-burn lotion. I think 100+ sunblock is a bit unnecessary, 30 or 50 would be fine as long as you re-apply. Also bring your bathing suit (1 or 2, however Target sells some really cute ones!) and flip flops in your carry on luggage in case you arrive earlier then check in time - that way you can enjoy the hotel's pool while you wait for your room to be ready. Also carry ID, money, health cards, etc in your hand luggage. Make sure you bring all adapters and stuff (cell phone + ipod chargers, laptop plug etc)

In Orlando, try out Universal Citywalk! You mentioned your going to Universal anyways, so you can always walk through during the day(you have to go through it to go to the parks anyways) and see if there's anything that catches your eye! It's also free. Downtown Disney is also filled with restaurants, shops and tons of stuff to see. Even if you don't buy anything, it's still a fun night and there's lots to do. Cirque de Soileil is worth it - but pricey.

Try walking down International Drive. There's an outdoor mall, tons of mini golf, and restaurants. Actually, there is mini golf all over the place. You have just about every theme imaginable - Pirates, Gators, Volcano's... you name it, they have it. There's also this thing called Old Towne, with some rides and restaurants.. it's cute, and probably would be fun for a night. There is also the Prime Outlets on International Drive. If you want to shop - this is the place to be. Tons of outlets with great prices and sales all the time!

Anyways, I hope this helps you out!
Definitely go to Kennedy Space Centre. Well worth it esp as it's named after a man with Irish roots :)First time on vacation to Orlando, FL! Advice please!?
Take an hour (45 mins if you drive like me...lol) drive east (528 Beachline) and check out cocoa beach...pretty cool beach town....go to Ron Jon's surf shop....get a surf lesson...if you dare...lol...yeah wear lots of sun block

p.s. all u need in bathing suits, shorts, tees/tanks, flip flops and sun glasses...don't bother with jeans...you won't need them...it's super easy to pack for summer in florida...low's 75, high 95. cirque del soeil (sp?) kinda is lame I think, plus it's $$$, downtown disney is cool, i like it...the irish bar is way cool...rather than the lame gymnasts spend $35 and get into disney quest it's right beside the cirque...it's a 5 story game room with virtual reality games/rides...you can spend 6 hrs in there easy...enjoy orlando
