I am planning on taking a trip to florida in the summer and have a question or two about the airlines:
1) I do not have too much money. I found that SW airlines (which is reliable as far as im told) has roundtrip tickets available for $468 including the taxes and such. And they give 2 free bag checks (though i will probably only take a carry on) and one bag. But these tickets are non refundable. Should i take that risk and go for these more affordable tickets? does non refundable in this sense mean the money would be completely lost?
2) Which airlines in your opinion is the best?Flying help please! Nonrefundable tickets?
First you need to say where you are flying from, $469 to Orlando seems extremely high, even for peak travel season. If you are looking at summer travel you still have time to wait for a fare sale. Sign up for e-mail alerts from several of the airlines. I prefer Delta, I worked for them, so I'm slightly biased. But there are other low cost carriers that are cheaper than any of them, depending on where you live that are available as well.
Personally, I dislike Southwest and their cattle call style boarding and seating. The only thing they have going for them is the free bags, but I've yet to find them cheaper than any other airline that I've priced out, and in most cases are more expensive than even the mainline legacy carriers.
I'd wait a little longer and keep searching. Check http://matrix.itasoftware.com for your dates and search a month out to know what the fares are by day and what airlines are offering the prices. You can't book from there, but it will tell you what airline you should book with and the schedule. But summer travel season isn't expected to be offering very many sales and deals, so if you see the prices go down on any carrier, be prepared to book right away.
If you are on the east coast, I wouldn't pay more than half that on any airline and $300 round trip is still high, even from the west coast. If you update your post with where you are flying from, that may explain the high cost, and allow some of us to be able to determine if that is decent or just outrageously stupid expensive (which for any city within the US, I think it's way too high, unless you are talking about a small airport or coming from Seattle)
Contact me with your travel dates and where you are flying from and I may be able to help you find a better alternative or let you know if that is what you can expect to pay. $234 each way is just too high for Orlando in my opinion, especially for Southwest.
Non-refundable simply means that once you purchase them, you can't change your mind and ask for a refund, however you will have a year from the date of purchase to use the tickets, plus any change fees that may apply.
non refundable simply means you will not get MONEY back but if you do have to cancel for some reason they will credit you that flight and you can take up to 1 year to book a new flight using that credit. (its like when you don't have a receipt at a store when returning an item and they give you store credit).
i would recommend southwest. their airfare is about HALF the price of other airlines and they are reliable.
thats the airline if have taken several times from buffalo ny to orlando florida and i already booked a round trip flight with southwest for this august to once again to from buffalo ny to orlando florida and back.Flying help please! Nonrefundable tickets?
I personally would not fly on Southwest but, as long as you're willing that's all that matters. My preference is Delta or United.
There a several types of tickets so you'd really need to look at the regulations on the ticket you have. Usually non-refundable ticket just means that you will not get your money refunded. With that being said, they will usually give you credit for a future flight %26amp; you have up to 1 yr. to redeem. please call the airlines directly %26amp; ask them about you non-refundable ticket.
you usually will get credit for another fligjht
here the information from their website
