Airlines to return to Oklahoma had to be cancelled on 4-25-09. Is there any way I would qualify for a flight as a space available passenger ona flight next week from McDill to Tinker? I am a 100% Disabled American Veteran (E-6 Indedfinite USAF ID)?
Leslie R. Easley HM2/USN/Medically RetiredHow can I find out about a Space available flight for myself and my wife from McDill AFB in Florida to Tinker?
Sure. You just need to call Base Operations at McDill to see if there are any flights going that direction. (you can call the base information for the number--go to McDill website.) If so, you'll need to sign up. The trick is flexibility, since you have fly on their schedule, not yours. Does your schedule give you the freedom to wait around? Do you have somewhere to stay while you wait for a space available?
(type flying air force space availabe into your search engine to read more. that's what I did for current info, though I and my husband are retired Air Force.)
Did you know you can fly space available on South West and other civilian airlines? You might try that. You may be more likely to get a seat, though that, too, involves waiting around at the airport for an opportunity. (of course, it's not free. I hope SW gave you your money back.)
