Starting 24 hours before his flight take off time, he can go online and do online check-in. There's a big button for it on the main page. From there, he would just put in his confirmation number, and that prints the boarding pass. That's all he needs to show (along with his ID) to get on the plane. So, if his plane takes off at 7 AM, he can check in and print his boarding pass as early as 7 AM the day before. Keep in mind that the earlier he checks in online, the faster he can get on the plane (they board in numerical order, and he'll have more priority boarding and better seat choices than if he waits until the last minute).
If online check-in is not an option, he can take his confirmation number to the airport. Southwest has kiosks in the lobby where you can type in the number and that will do the same thing as online - check in and print his boarding pass. Or, he can give the confirmation number and ID to the guys at the baggage check in and they can print his boarding pass as well.
It's a SUPER easy process...don't stress!
Make sure his name on the ticket (or confirmation) is exactly how it is on his ID.I just purchased a plane ticket (for someone else) online thru SW Airlines' website. What now?
All he needs is his boarding pass, which has all the necessary information on it
