but will our baby be to young for that..we leave tuesday and come back saturday..its a 9 hour drive..we will be chaperones with our own room ...we stay in the gaylord opryland hotel which is just like living outside inside...the baby will be between a month to 2 months old...if we go and i asking for trouble? will it be to much to handle? When did you take your newborn on a trip?
I think it depends on your child's temperament. With my son that would not of worked!!! He was EXTREMELY colicky. But I have friends who had babies who would just lay there quietly and sweetly the whole time. It's hard to tell at this point honestly.
I would be concerned about my baby getting sick honestly.. but I'm a little anal with all that. If you do go just make sure not to pass your baby around to people a lot or anything. Even if they pick up a slight cold it can be tough. Babies are exclusive nose breathers.. so imagine waking up every 15 minutes to a baby screaming who can't breath well.
I think you should be fine really. Just try to limit your baby's exposure to other people if possible and make sure she gets enough rest. Hopefully you get one of the quiet babies!!! lol, good luck!
yeah i would skip it this year , better to be safe then sorry. who knows what kind of germs and viruses he with pick up . that is the beginning of the cold/flu season... dont chance it for your baby's sakeWhen did you take your newborn on a trip?
no not at all. they will actually sleep the most way. ive taken my daughter at 4 months old an like 3 12 hour road trips within a week.....we were moving a lot but no its actually not that bad at all and i was by myself....good luck jus make sure that you bring food to fill baby up a burping rag toys and u kno, all the necessities!!!
I live in Georgia and we took a trip to St. Augustine by car 7 hrs away when he was 6 wks old. We stayed for about 4 days. It was pretty easy, he slept a lot.
We travel a lot no matter what age the kids are. Personally for us the younger the better! They sleep most of the time, and if you are nursing you don't have to pack, food, bottles and formula! Baby won't be mobile yet which will be a plus in church, it is hard to get a baby to sit still! You might be tired, since the baby probably won't be sleeping through the night but by two months will probably have some sort of night schedule that you are used to. If you travel with them regularly when they are young then it is just that much easier when they are old enough to whine!
When my oldest son was just over a month old, we took a trip to see my husbands family (unfortunately a family member passed away) and he handled it quite well. The only hard thing with traveling is feeding the baby while you're on the road. It's a presonal preference, but as long as the baby is healthy and the dr is okay with it, it should be fine.
My daughter was 5 weeks old the first time and only traveled with a newborn and we took a bus from southern CA to OR and I was fine.Oh and I mention I had 3 other children with me and no hubby so I think you will do great you will have a good time
i took my son to maryland ON THE GREYHOUND AT 6 WEEKS i stayed 2 weeks and he was fine but u should make sure ur baby gets their shots just to be safe b/c thee is alot of germs when traveling
